In the first grade, learning English is as easy as learning A is for Apple. That’s why our first lessons begin with talking all about apples. We learned the song, ‚Five Little Apples Hanging on a Tree,‘ and then talked about which color apples we like the best. The kids loved taking turns saying, ‚I like red apples‘ or ‚I like green apples.‘ In just a few lessons, we learned how to count and say the names of colors in English.

In October and November, we learn about autumn, leaves and pumpkins. In the 1B we went outside to find our favorite autumn leaf. Then we talked about what color the leaf is and whether it is big, medium, or small.
